2010 Most Love Products

Its the last day of 2010!!! Yeay..Hoping next year will be a good year ahead. Okay, as promised this post will be on the 10 products that I heart the most in 2010.

Item1- Cure Natural Aqua Gel

A very effective yet gentle scrub as it contains no beads at all. Made from 90% percent water, this product will not thins out the skin layer like other exfoliators do. It really leaves my skin so so soft after using this.100% love

Item2- IQQU Advanced Sunscreen

The popular Michelle Phan's line and this is a must have product. It is mousse type and easily absorb to the skin without greasiness. Could be applied over make up.What I raved about this is that it corrects my skintone and I only need to apply little foundation on my face. Certainly a must have sunscreen.

Item 3- Kose Sekkisei Lotion

Heart this product alot. Leaves my face really plump after using this and it really hydrates my skin. The only downside is that it does contains alcohol in it. However, my skin is really soft after using this and I must have more of this.lol.

Item 4- Estee Lauder Hydrationist

Did I mentioned that this is the first time I tried on EL's moisturizer? And hell ya, its superb. I really like touching my own skin everytime after applying this. It makes skin so supply and plump.

Item 5: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Its supposed to be an anti-aging serum and I think alot people used to compare this with the Lancome Genifique. What I basically think is that this has more benefits compared to the Lancome one. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Lancome one does contains alcohol denat in it. Plus, the price is like way too expensive. Hence, this is my love for now. When I apply this, it leaves skin so smooth the next day and I was told that you can use anti-aging products at the age of 18 :)

Item 6- MAC Cremesheen

It looks really flattering when I see swatches of people who have it and indeed it was. My lips is kind of pigmented and this certainly suits me the best as I couldn't go over empowering on the lips. And this somewhat hydrates my lips too.

Item 7- Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Bronzer

This product is a bronzer and I had to admit that every bronzer that I used before will leave me looking rather tanned and unnatural but this one really makes me looks flattering. It is buildable and it gives the most beautiful bronze on the face. Comes with a small kabuki which makes application really easy.

Item8- Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude

The most pretty nude I tried. It might washed me out a little but I like to top this with a nice lipgloss. Love the packaging, so sleek and classy. A total hits for me.

Item 9- Amazing Concealer

Sorry mine looks a little crappy here but this has the most high coverage concealer I used but yet it is still lightweight and not cakey. You only need a really tiny bit of it and the concealer could be easily blend into the skin. Adheres perfectly.Highly recommend this product. However it is a little pricey but it has really good coverage.

Item 10- MAC 187 brush

I'm not sure the authenticity of mine but this brush is really soft and it can be used for almost everything, for blusher, face powder, and I like to use this as a foundation brush. Hence, pardon me with the dirty brush.lol.With a stippling motion, I could get a really perfect airbrushed look. Heart it.

I hope you guys could enjoy the last day of 2010.
What's your new year resolutions?
Mine is to pray hard to work on things that I want to lead my life to :)
Wish you a happy new year.

10 Products I Regret Buying In 2010

Hey peeps. 2010 is gonna over in just a few days left and I decided to do a post on things I regret buying in 2010 and also things that I love. So I guess I will start with things I hate first because I am the kind of people who will go thru bitterness before sweetness.lol

It will be a mixture of skincare and also makeup products. Alright, we shall begin .

Item 1-Skin 79 Sun Protection Balm SPF 50+ PA+++

It is like a sunscreen and makeup base which has like cream consistency. What I have to say is that it is really greasy and its as if couldn't absorb to the skin. It leaves my skin feeling so uncomfortable. Plus, you need to get the sponge and dig on the product which I think it is really troublesome as it picks up very little each time. Totally regret buying this.

Item 2- Origin Zero Oil Pore Purifying Toner

I don't blame on this product because it is really meant for oily prone skin, to control the oil and acne. However, I felt that it is way too strong for me as it contains alcohol denat in it. I am quite sensitive with strong alcohol content and this really smells alcoholic. My bad because I missed out the ingredients when I bought this. Was sold off when I see the packaging :P It does contains salicyclic acids which I love as it helps to control and prevent acne but my skin doesn't like the smell and the alcoholic content :(

Item3- Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer

I got this for free when I bought the Photoready foundation and I have to say that I don't love it. It doesn't helps in oil controls and my foundation doesn't last for long hours at all. And I have to touch up my foundation quite often. I thought that a good primer could at least helps with the staying power. So this is definitely a miss for me.

Item 4- Revlon Mascara Double Twist Mascara

I seriously do not know why I picked this up, like seriously.Haha. The bristle is way too big for me as I have really small eyes and it makes application kinda hard as it keeps on touches on my lids and the wand is kinda fat and unsteady. Also, after a few hours of applying, small particles will start coming out. I thought it is really weird as it is suppose to be a waterproof one so I am quite disappointed with this one.

Item 5- Biore Cleansing Oil

This really didn't takes makeup off completely and it leaves my skin feels really oily even after washing. I now use this to remove makeup on the back of my hands after doing my makeup,as I use my hand as a palette :)
I think I have done a review on this on my old post.Do check them out if you are interested.

Item 6- Laneige Pore Clear Cleansing Foam

It is supposed to be a foaming cleanser but it has like little beads in it to clear up the pores. However, I think it is way too drying for my skin as it leaves my skin feels really tight when I use this. But it smells really lovely as though the flowers they distribute in church during Easter Day. Haha. Okay don't judge me with this. Just go smell it yourself :D

Item 7- Vyes Rocher Cotton Pads

I hate cotton pads that will have like streaks left on the face when you apply toner or lotion with it. And this is one of the example of that. I almost went crazy because the SA told me this will not happen. Roarr..

Item 8- Kose Emulsion

I still cannot accept the fact that this needs to be used together with cotton pads. I understand it could help exfoliates the skin, but I thought this is really nonsense.lol. I am a typical traditional people. haha. I just feels that all the emulsion seeps into the cotton pads and I was like apply nothing on the face but when I use it alone, it is way too sticky and it will not absorbs into my skin. However my mum love it as she says it absorbs perfectly. So I thought it was better for dry skin human? I don't know.lol

Item 9- Sasatinnie Aqua Boost Moisturizing Eye Mask

This is really cheap but I don't see any difference it made to my eye.No hydrates, no brighten, no reduce puffiness no effect at all. A total waste of my money.

Item 10- Bioglo Deep Cleansing Mask

It is supposed to deep cleanse the face as well as cleaning up blackheads. I really feels it does it jobs BUT it is as though sticked to the skin when it is dry. Very hard to peel off and I almost shouted my lung off when taking this out. Its so painful and its killing me, I don't lie. A big no-no for me.

Well, thats all for the 10 bad boys. Do stay tune for the products I love.

Review: Schwarzkopf Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner

I didn't know the goodness of this product until mum got me to try out. I was kind of skeptical at first as alot of spray conditioner I use didn't makes any effect to my hair. But I have to say this one does do wonders. It is said to help to detangles normal to dry to curly hair and infuses it with essential moisture.

Okay, say me 'sua ku' or anything but this is the first time I came across hair products that has hyaluronic acid derivate in it. Also, it has amino cell rebuild and both of these could help to rebalance the moisture level of the hair and also repairs inside the hair cell.

It comes with a convenient spray head and it contains 200ml in a bottle and I would say it kinda hit pan fast as it is water base but I think with the good result it is really worth the penny.

How to use:
It has like a two layer liquid inside where you have to shake it up well before spraying to pre-shampooed,towel-dried hair. No rinsing is required.

My hair feels really really soft after using this and I can't stop touching it.Haha. Highly highly recommend this. lol. Love it so much that me and mum have to get backups for it. I think it has like a Christmas promotion now  whereby you can buy one and get one free but it depends on where you go.

Review: Tomato Fresh Pack

I got this for quite some time and I thought this will be a good time to do a review on it. This is the tomato fresh pack by Cosline and you can get this at Sasa.com. What I could say is that this is really a good mask. It is cheap, yet effective.

This is the description that I got from Sasa.com

description
COSLINE Tomato Fresh Pack contains various extract of plant and extract of tomato (1700mg), which can deeply cleansing pore, cleansing dead cell, smaller pores and whitening skin. Claming sensitive acne skin and increase skin elasticity. Increasing brightness and smoothen after use. Especially suitable for acne skin.

Tomato is rich in anti-oxidant because it contains lycopene and this mask is said to help to heal acne.

It is a gel consistency and it has really nice smell. Bear in mind its not perfumed or anything but it is the smell of the tomato itself. It feels really great and refreshed with the tomato smell and the ingredients is full of plant extracts. My skin feels hydrated and moisturized after washing the mask off.

 How to use:
- For hygiene purpose, use a spatula and dig some of the product out and apply evenly on cleanse face leaving out the eye and lip area
- Wait for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water

As you can see I already use quite a bit of it but it still have so much left after so long and I think it can last me like forever.Haha. But I do have two backups of it just for in case.lol. I also have the grape and honey one but the tomato one is my love.

I highly recommend this especially if you have acne or oily skin.

My skincare routine

Hi peeps. Today's post will be showing on skincare products that I use recently. I wouldn't say that this is the best I had ever use but this is my most updated regimen, so yea.My skin type is combination to oily where I get oily on the T-zone and quite drying on the cheek area sometimes.Besides,I also had acne and my skin is a little sensitive.I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide so the most I can go is salicylic acid. Okay, wtf now I think my face have every problem.rofl

So anyway, I basically rotate my skincare every half a year or so, as I mentioned earlier I do not want my skin to be immune to that certain products and will not works for the others.

Morning routine
I keep it quite simple in the morning with these products before doing my makeup.

From L-R
1) Stem Gentle Cleansing Milk
2) Kose Sekkisei Lotion
3) Estee Lauder Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher
4) H20 Eye Oasis
5) Estee Lauder Hydrationist
6) IQQU Advance Sunscreen
7) Diorsnow White Reveal UV Shield

I actually uses different suncreen depending on my skin condition. When my skin feels oily, I will use the IQQU one as it is a mousse type and it leaves skin feels matte and nice. The Dior one will leave my skin looks dewy hence I will use it when my face feels alittle drying.

Night Routine

My skin will be more pampered during the night as I believe when we sleep, the skin repairs and heals themselves.Hence, putting more rich products will eventually help more in the recovering system in the skin. Also, making sure that all your make up is taken out is equally important because the last thing that you want is a clogged face. So, these will be my night routine products.

From L-R
1) Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil
2) Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser
3) Optrex Eye Lotion
4)L'occitane Fresh Face Water
5) Kose Sekkisei Lotion
6) Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye
7) Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
8) Paul and Joe Whitening Serum
9) Estee Lauder Hydrationist
10) Kiehl's Blue Herbal Moisturizer

I always make sure that I double cleanse my face: one to take the makeup off and the second one will takes out the dirt and oil and also the last traces of makeup.

Okay, item number 3 is kinda out of topic here but I guess it is part of my important routine as I like to make sure that my eyes are cleared from mascaras or any eyeshadows that would probably trapped in the eye. Caring for your eyes is very important especially if you are a contact wearer. Make sure that you clean your contacts properly and do not forget to change your casing every 3months to avoid bacteria.

The Kose Sekkisei Lotion is really good but sadly to say that it contains alcohol in it so I wouldn't recommend this to people who is allergic to alcohol. However it leaves skin feels really smooth and hydrated. I also has the emulsion but I had to say that I hate it. It is actually quite sticky if you use it on its own and I've been told that you need to use a cotton pad which I think it is rather ridiculous as the cotton pad almost seeps everything in. So this will go somewhere else from the drawer.

I only use the  Kiehl's moisturizer on the affected area of my skin. It contains salicylic acids and I'm really loving it very much.It heals acne but becareful as it is a little drying hence you only applied on the acne area.

I'm sorry this post is like quite messy and all.lol. IMO, everybody has different skin. What works for me might not works for you, vice versa. I'm just here to share mine :)

I hope you enjoy this post and I will talk to you soon.
Have a nice weekend and take care.

Estee Lauder Holiday Style 2010

I got this set yesterday when I went outing with friends and now all the counters are like having christmas sets for the holiday season. I basically run out of moisturizer so I thought that it will be great to try on the Estee Lauder ones. I know alot of people says that this brand is for old people, but trust me, its not true.

So I picked up this set because I basically would like to try out most of the things in here,so I thought this would be a good deal for me. In this set it contains:
i) Perfectly Clean Foaming Cleanser 50ml
ii) Advanced Night Repair Eye 5ml
iii) Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher 15ml
iv) Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Cream 50ml

Well honestly, before this I only tried on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum and not anything else from this brand. Its a pretty good serum I must say and I'm still using it so I thought that it will be good to try on different range as well. I do not usually stick with one brands because firstly, I like to try on new products and secondly, I do not want my skin to be immune to that only product from certain brands and not works for others. Hence I basically changes my skincare every six months or so :)

I'm really excited to try these out and maybe I will do a review on it whether it really does its job or not. So, I hope you enjoy this short little post and I will see ya soon. Takecare :)

Loves,
 Jess

The Skin Lab

Got myself these when I stroll around trying to find a good cleansing milk. I wanted to change my skincare as I find my face kind of dries out on the cheek area. Ain't sure whether this is a good product or not but this is sort of like an organic ones so I guess it will be still okay to the skin. Shall try it first before doing a review on it. The SA also give out a few samples for me to try. Well, of course is to lure me to buy more of their products. I'm controlling myself to the max because I wanted to visit Sephora Sg and watch concert so I didn't buy much. I'm saving I'm saving *finger-crossed*

Review: Guerlain Metorites

Okay I thought this will be a good time for me to do a review on this Guerlain Meteorites since I had tried it for a good amount of time. I have it in 01 Teint Rose.

What exactly it is:
According to Guerlain, it is a face powder which blends different colored pearls together:green to correct redness, pink to even out the look, white for illumination and gold for radiance. It could create a flawless complexion: luminous, even, clear and natural.

I have to say it is perfume-y and I suggest to smell it at the counter first before buying it as the smell is kinda strong but once it is on your face, the smell will be gone. I'm still tolerable with the smell as it smell rather nice and soothing.

How to use:
At first, I always thought that the balls have to be crushed or something before using them.lmao. Well, what you need to do is just to swirl around your brush in the balls until you get a good amount of it, and then gently sweep it on your face.

Do you really need this:
In my opinion, not really. If you have a better option with a cheaper price, I would say go ahead for it. This is really way too pricey for a face powder. It retails in Guerlain counter for RM182. In fact, I don't see this to do any difference to my skin other that to set my foundation nicely. I actually do have something which is of a similar one, which is the Givenchy face powder(picture above), so I'm not sure whether I'm loving this product or not.

Honestly, I picked this up just because of its packaging. The packaging is really sleek. It has like a metal case and on top of it,which is the cover, it has like the embossed flower print that you can actually feel. I learnt that before this metal packaging, it is like a cardboard thingy. Well, I guess after their clever consideration of its price vs its packaging they then decided to change to a more classy ones.

Another reason for me to pick this up is because of its uniqueness. I do not own anything like this before(powder in balls.okay this sounds so wrong wtf) so I guess it will do a good collection for me.
I will still keep using it as I have fun playing with it already.

The gift

Present from the girls. Okay, minus the lancome one.lol. Just thought of taking it out and flashing it once more. So proud that I got this. You guys don't mind right?Well even if you guys do, I still want to show it. bleh

OMG!! look at how pretty is that. I do really want to use it, but just can't bear to lay my brush or my fingers on it because it is too pretty to be use, and I am pretty much confident that the over-sprayed will be gone with just a swipe or two.

Anyway, I was given this to try out. It is the Lancome Genifique youth activator sample for 7 days . I had been eyeing on this one lately and if this is really good, my pocket is gonna burn again :(

Well, so here, I would like to deeply thanks my friends, you know who you are, for giving me the lovely present. Really appreciate it alot and I can't wait to use them :D

Thats all from me.I hope you enjoy your weekend and I shall talk to you soon. Bye

Love & Beauty

I totally forgot that I bought this in awhile. Mr. Postman came today and I was like wondering what did I buy over the internet and I recalled.lol

Yes, another blusher but I'm quite sad that it turned out to be not my liking. Its from Forever 21 and I think that the color is a little too dark and it is pigmented :(

The ingredients. I don't know why I'm showing you the ingredients.haha

But well guess I could keep it as a collection since I did not own any Forever 21 cosmetics. The design is quite nice tho with sort of like a flower print to it. So, another blusher member.Ha-ha-ha. Did I just told myself I will stop buying blushers? :p

Cheers peeps

Review: Cure Natural Aqua Gel

I first stumbled on this product in LYN where they distribute free samples for people to try. When I first got it, I was really not confident on how this product does its job. A plain gel thingy is an exfoliator? Well hell ya I must raise my hands & legs and nodes non-stop to agree that this product works very very well, okay, that was a little too exaggerate.lol.

Am loving this product very much. It is very gentle to the skin because it is just like a gel consistency which it doesn't has any micro-beads in it unlike most the exfoliator does and this definitely will not thin out the layer of the skin

It is made of 90% hydrogen water and natural extracts which is suitable even for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and I do not find this product to burn or sting on my face.

With circular motion, I gently massage this products on dry face for about a minute and rinse it off with warm water. My skin feels really soft and smooth after using it and my essence and moisturizer could penetrates into the skin even better (loves)

you get this when you pump out the product

no beads at all, just clear gel

yikes~ can you see the dead skin?

And yes, as a normal human, I was quite skeptic at first too whether the 'dead-skin' is produced by the ingredients itself, so I tested it out by using a Q tip and roll the products on a flat container. However, nothing came out and I'm seriously amazed and confident on this product already.haha

The downside of it is that it is not available in Malaysia yet. You can actually get it online in lyn but I got mine when my friend visited Singapore. They retail in watson Singapore for SGD42. It may be a little too pricey when it is convert to MYR, but just by looking at how good the product works already makes me think it is all worth the penny.

Packaging wise, it is a pump out bottle and it comes with a little clip so that you won't accidently pump out the products when you are travelling or whatever. I couldn't stress on how good is this product anymore. If you could tell, almost half of a bottle is already gone.lol.This is definitely my holy grail product and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a gentle and yet effective exfoliator that do not contain any harsh chemicals in it.
