Review: Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Hey guys, as promised, here is the review on the Revlon Photoready Foundation.

So I got mine some other day ago in drugstores and they were like having sales. The retail price is pretty much expensive I think is about MYR 64 and now they are like having sales for around MYR 54. I went crazy when I first saw this and keep jumping here and there excitedly and the rest was history.

When I bought mine, they have promo whereby when I get one of the photoready, they will give the Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer as a free gift for the first 30 customers. I really wanted to try that one but I always didn't have the chance to pick it up just because I think that it is quite expensive for a small tube like that. Its about MYR 50-ish if I'm not mistaken.( Update: I hate the primer. It leaves the skin even oilier during the day and I don't really know why. Such a dissapointment :/  )So I went to the drugstores before the shop opens and I was their first customer there..lol. I am cheap like that.haha.I got a free clutch from them too but I'm not really crazy over that clutch so, whatever.

So, anyway, drugstores foundation is not really my type because for some reason I don't really think they do good on the face. I'm not bias or something but I do feel that foundation and concealer is such an important things that I would not compromise on. However, I read so much about it and I was really eager to try it out. I think they have pretty much selection for Asian skin tone but one thing that I am confused about is that I think their numbering for shades was a bit weird. 006 is way much darker than 008. lol. I don't know.

I was actually torn between two shades, one is the 004 nude and the other one if I'm not mistaken is the 007.couldn't remember. Yea  weird I know.lol. So eventually after much struggling, my friend chooses the 004 one for me. I think it has more yellow undertone in it compared to the 007 one which has pink undertone in it. Both look equally fine when I tested them out but I think the reason why I didn't choose the 007 is because I'm actually afraid it might oxidized on me and makes me look really dark,so, yea.

I know some people do not like this foundation because it kinds of have shimmers in it. I actually didn't realize it until I do a swatch on my hand. It doesn't really bother me much because I don't really see any shimmers when I put on my face. It gives my face looks dewy rather than shimmery. I also read that this foundation dries up really quickly for some people, but I didn't find it to happen to me.lol

Packaging wise, it is a really sleek and good packaging compared to the colorstay one which was really awfully made. This comes with a little pump and you can pump out the amount that you want. For me, 3/4 of a pump is already sufficient for the whole face. A little goes a long way and I think that the coverage is quite good as I use less concealer when I use this foundation.

If anyone of you tried the colorstay one, you will know that it has really weird smell, I think it smells like some kind of detergent or something.lol. That was one of the reason why I back out in drugstores foundation.lol But the photoready one doesn't really have any smell to it so I am quite glad about it.  The only concern about this  foundation is that it has quite a high spf in it which is spf 20 and everybody knows foundation that has spf in it will make you look white in pictures. I guess its because of the titanium dioxide which will bounce off the flash of the camera? I don't know whether it makes any sense. chemistry fail.lol But as far as I concern I don't really realize my pictures look white with this foundation. Maybe just a slight white in some angle but I'm still okay with it.

The cons of this foundation is maybe on the price though. I think it is really quite pricey for a drugstore foundation. Other than that, I don't really find any cons to it. I will definitely repurchase this one provided it has sales to it. Teehee~
